My brother is just now getting into cycling and just bought a bike that is Shimano Rx100 equipped. I've never heard of the RX100 components. Does anyone know what the difference is between the 105 and rx100 components? /dale

| The Shimano 105 has a paint finish and the RX100 is shiny aluminium. I'm not sure if there's any difference other than that. I know that 105 is good stuff so I presume the RX100 is also. Rod | |||||

| Strictly finish. I have 105 and my friend has RX100. We compaired
    them and they are identical.
