Action Alert
------------
Legislature poised to make decisions about bicycling in
Massachusetts, USA
Your call or letter urgently needed to support bicycling!
Legislative hearings in the next few days...
Decisions in the next few weeks...
Now is the time to act!
State legislators are very receptive to calls/letters from
constituents. It really makes a difference!
Here's what to do:
Get the names of your state representative and senator from your
city/town hall, or the State Elections Division, @617-727-2828.
Get phone numbers (if still needed) for your legislators from the
State House info line @617-722-2000. Or write your rep/senator at
State House, Boston, MA 02133
Call both your state rep & senator. Say that you're a constituent
and ask to speak with the legislator, or an aide. All you need to
do is urge them to support bicycling, and tell them why you think
it is important. If you want to, say more...
Urge them to support bicycling on roadways as well as on separate
paths, via *proposed* amendments to the state transportation bond
issue (*this is critical*). Ask them to support *bicycle related*
bills filed by Reps. Cohen, Gardner and Gray. If they're positive,
ask them to convey their support to:
The Committees on Ways and Means (bond issue amendments)
Public Safety (program office, H.5032)
Taxation (program fund, H.4816)
