    Hello Hiroshi,

You're not getting much help so far... I don't know about Reflex ATBs,
so I can only give you some general comments.

When you say "cool", you mean "good", is that right? The simplest way
to tell if a bike is good is to look at the price. If it's expensive,
    it *should* be good.

A better way to tell whether a bike is good is to look at the frame and
components. Quality frames are made out of good steel, or aluminium, or
carbon-fibre (all of which are expensive). Modern frames have features
like wishbone rear stays, or run all the cables along the top tube.
They might have things like front and/or rear suspension this year.

The components should be mid- to high-end Campagnolo/Suntour/Shimano,
and the wheels should have huge tyres.

Finally, have you tried riding it?

     Yes.

I want to ride it,but I have not.

Why I want to know about "Reflex", because it is sold by the frame set(it has
carbon downtube.), it isn't assembled.

I wish to buy new bike. please give me your advice. not only about reflex.

                                      Thank you, Rod Hiroshi

If you are looking for the "COOLEST" MTB, you may want to consider a
Merlin. I just found out that Merlin does sell to Japan. The frame is
made of titanium alloy so you would enjoy riding it for a long time.
The most significant disadvantage is that it would be expensive. I don't
know how much it would sell for in Japan but I can check the price or
at least who is the distributor.

Thank you, Eric.

I am looking for the "COOLEST" MTB to buy. You say so !
It is expensive. Quite so !! But I consider Merlin as I will buy, Eric.
I know how much it would sell for in Japan and the distributer.
 $ 3,300( 90' model)
( By the way ," MANITOU " is sold at $8,800, " Yeti F.R.O" is $3,000 in Japan.)

I want to know what is the best. Waiting for opinions.

I'd agree that the Merlin is the "coolest" MTB that you can order
out of a catalog. But if you really want it to be cool, you shouldn't
buy the bike with a standard component group (such as Deore XT or
XC Pro). Instead, you should get the frame, and have it fitted
t with custom-quality components, such as Bullseye cranks and
WTB (Wilderness Trail Bike) brakes. In the U.S., you could put
one of these together for around (or a little over) $3000.

One of the Calif MTB outfits will do this for you. (forget the name)
I don't think they sell a single bike for less than $1500. Most are
around 2.5-3.5K. They offer the standard high-end groups, as well as
the top notch components. Really makes you drool looking over that
    stuff.
