I would like to know if anybody have already heard about this
brand of bike : KETTER
I know that it is German , and the shop offered me a "City-Bike"
or "light-bike" at 800$
Is this reasonable? does the brand merits a price like that?
suggestions well accepted.
thanks

KETTLER or KETTLAR (I think)
I think they specialise(d?) in aluminium frames. I bought one about
4 years ago and have done a great deal of touring on it (having
completely refitted it). I would not buy the same bike now - but this is
because my use of bikes has changed a lot since. Given that the frame is
still OK (I hope!) it must be pretty tough but I find it a bit `squashy'
these days.
So a neither yes nor no answer.

I think you mean KETTLER (I'm not to sure about the spelling)!
Around here every shop carries em'. There suppose to be very strudy
with all rust free parts and so on. When I bought my Mtbike they
tried to sell me one first. There top of the line MTbike goes for
around 1800 D-marks here. I guy here at the plant has one and say's
he wouldn't buy anything else.

KETTLER is one the biggest selling bike brand here in Switzerland. The
bikes are made in Germany. Kettler is specialised in aluminium frames.
My sister has a Kettler Mountain bike. What you get for the price is
not bad, but not all the parts seems to be the best quality -
the bearings for example are about the cheapest you can get.
The Kettlers I have seen are quite heavy as well. If I
would like to spend about $ 800 for a City Bike here in Switzerland
I would not buy a Kettler - there are better ones around.
Felix.
