    	The famous Digital phone book says UBO is Basingstoke, England.

    	I think that's in the UK, but I'm just a dumb 'merican.

I read in National Geographic about the abysmal state of geographical knowledge
in the US - I took it with a pinch of salt......

PS How come you all know where Alpe d'Huez is?

PPS Or do you?

      Wait a minute Robin. I may not know my european Geography as well as
    I could but you have to understand that the U.S. by itself is the size
    of a large chunk of Europe. We know states the way you guys know
    Countries. I know my U.S. geography and when I get the chance to go
    there I will know my european geography as well. I can navigate from
    pennsylvania up to Montreal and then over to Toronto around the great
    lakes down New York State, Vermont, New hampshire, Mass, RI, Conn. and
    a few other places. Thats easily equivilent to knowing your way around
    Germany, Austria, France and a few other places as well.

      but on the other foot I'm sure you've heard the old adage.
    "If a person speaks three languages he's Trilingual. if he speaks two
    languages he's bilingual. If he speaks one language he's American."

I'm impressed you know all these places but you still don't know Blazingsmoke -
after all it is the Centre of the Universe, just ask anyone who lives there!

I think you do yourselves an injustice with the language - we have some
Americans here who speak French, should they be drummed out of the Union?

I forgot to add my sympathy to Neil, it's traumatic having the velo stolen, and
to add insult to injury it's usually worth more to you than just the cash value.
1850.7Hot European Bikes For Sale in NashuaFSTVAX::HANAUERMike... Ice~Cream~to~BicycleThu Feb 21 1991 13:508
You guys don't understand.

Many bicycles stolen in England show up in Nashua (N.H. USA).

[p.s. to Neil: we all really do hope you get it back]

1850.8Look out for Z team-bikesIDEFIX::HEMMINGSLanterne RougeFri Feb 22 1991 03:457
Just to make you feel better, Neil, it happens to everyone. Yesterday on the
local FR3 news, there was an item showing Greg Lemond and the Z's who are at
present training at Fayence (about 30 km west of Grasse in the Var). Apparently
some-one had stolen two team-bikes out of their garage - the DS said it was a
pretty stupid thing to do because they were so easily recognised. That didn't
seem to stop people stealing Rembrandts, did it? (Please no mail asking where
to buy a CF low profile Rembrandt).
