This poem is dedicated to an ex-cyclist, who due to a head injury while
cycling, now lives in a mental home in Bracknell.
Cabbage
=======
Don't bother to knock
for there's nobody home
I'm just a cabbage
In a head case zone
I sit in my chair
with a stupid grin
I find amusement
with the simplest of things
Staring at walls
Is how I spend my time
and I love to dribble
and throw up slime
But don't pity me, my friend
nor deride me with laughter
for I have no worries
and I'm well looked after
And if, when you ride your bike one day
You happen to fall in a nasty way
I hope your head is well protected
else you'll join me as a mental defective
