1800.0. "Canondale dealers in Eastern MA/Southern NH" by MR4DEC::HUPPERT () Wed Dec 12 1990 17:41

A friend of mine in Holland is looking to order a Canondale frame from
a Eastern MA/Southern NH bike shop while he is here visiting over
Christmas. Apparently the cost is much lower than buying it in Holland
    (even after duty).

Can someone suggest a *good* bike shop who sells/specializes in
Canondale? A service I've heard is prudent when buying a Canondale is
a frame alignment check (1 - 2 years ago I heard that Canondale quality
control wasn't that good). Does the shop your suggesting provide this
    service?

    /Larry

Try Belmont Wheelworks in Belmont Ma. ((617) 489-3577
) Ask for Doug and tell him
I sent you. They're one of the best shops around, carry C-dale, and with custom
frame builder Peter Mooney on staff, are sure to be able to check the alignment.
Speaking of alignment, I've heard it is difficult if not impossible to
straighten a C-dale if it's out.

Also try Nault's Bicycle in Manchester NH. ((603) 669-7993). Ask for Dave, and
tell him I sent you. They carry C-dale, but I don't know if they can check the
alignment.

You might first check the shops for availability of the particular
frame your friend is looking for. I just spoke with Cannondale
yesterday about a trade-in for a touring frame... all they have
left of the '90 models are two or three 25-inchers. Worse, no
'91s are scheduled for production until May 1991.

Buchikas Ski and Sports in Salem, NH is the largest C-dale dealer
in the Southern NH area. Take exit 1 off Rt 93 and take 28 south
for about 3 miles. They are on the right. They have some 91' already
in. Ask for John Maurice and tell himd Huey sent you 603-893-5534.

You will also save 5% because of Mass. tax.

I have 90' C-Dale crit frame that has never been put together. My
son got it from his sponsor toward the end of the year. Since then,
Merlin has agreed to build him 2 bikes so he has no interest in the
    C-dale. I don't charge 5% Mass tax either.

Does this mean that it hasn't been welded?

My colleague in Holland is seeking the following bicycle:

    TYPE: Canondale SR600 (Roadracing)
    Colour: Dark Blue
    Gears: Shimano 105
    Wheels: Wolber
    Framesize: 63 cm

These seem to be very difficult to get, given the current demand for
    Canondales.

That C-Dale is going for about $825-875 this year. Your friend better
order it now because C-Dale is having a tough time meeting demands this
    year.
