1777.0. "Greg goes off-road" by NOVA::FISHER (Rdb/VMS Dinosaur) Thu Nov 08 1990 15:23
From a sidebar article page 18, Dec 1990 Outside Magazine.
"From Our Cycling Desk
"A strange yet familiar face showed itself at September's
Chequamengnon Fat Tire Festival in Cable, Wisconsin, an
imposing cyclist who jetted ahead of the pack at the outset
of the 35-mile cross country race. The mystery man: none
other than Greg Lemond, the world's ruling road racer,
making his off-road debut. How did he finish? Respectably.
He won by two minutes."
While one might debate the descriptive terms, I think
it is interesting to see that Greg has turned to off-road
racing even if just for the off-season. The picture shows
that he has Scott bars on his bike and he is wearing his
Z uniform.

| Nice to hear he's flying the Z flag even in obscure off-season ATB race.
Of course Roger Zannier might not be too pleased if he didn't.

| Gregg has long been incorporating ATB riding into his training per
the advise/instruction of his personal trainer. He has stated that
he likes the riding and enjoys the "break" from the road.
Doesn't surprise me he's a monster in the dirt too.
