Hello, I am a newcomer to the mountain bike activity. I am shopping around for a good bike. I have located a quality bike this the Bridgestone MB4. I was then completely shocked at the price in Germany. This is around DM1500.00, Here is the question.?? the enqueries made so far indicate that the price in the US is about $500.. ( price).. does anyone know how much it costs to ship a bike from the US to Munich. (Germany) 2. Does anyone know the central distribution for Bridgestone in the US. I estimate that a phone call to them or a large bike shop could get it shipped to me. Alternative ideas that I have had is that if anyone from the states is visiting Europe (mainland) in the near future. I would be happy to make bookings. Route plans in the Munich area if they could assist me in the aquisition. Completely open to suggestions from anyone who might have been through this route before. Rgds, Stephen ps.. the price difference is not due to taxes. .. To import the bike would cost me 30%. This still puts the price at $666, or a saving of $300..

Bridgestone Cycle, USA 15003 Wicks Blvd San Leandro, CA 94577 (415) 895-5480 ask for customer service--the number is often very busy so keep trying I've bought two Bridgestone mtn bikes from a shop in LA called Beverly Hills Bike Shop, (213) 275-2453. Owner's name is Steve, and he gave me a hell of a deal on an MB-0 and an MB-3. He was perfectly willing to ship them to me in St. Louis for $15 each. Might also try Franks' Spoke and Wheel, which has several stores in the Boston area. I don't have their phone number but you may find it elswhere in this conference. Good luck, Tom

A dealer on the East Coast is Buchika's in Salem NH. I bought my MB-4 there and have been very happy with it. The frame is great- very rigid and relatively light. Good luck. Ed
1746.3 | Gearshift problems on the MB5 anyone? | EICMFG::BINGER | Tue Oct 09 1990 15:30 | 12
just when I had the answers they changed the questions..... I heard by calling the numbers in the above notes that Bridgestone have changed the MB5, and allthe MB range considerably. I spoke to Matt at Bridgestone and he said that one reason was due to problems with the gaershift. Has anyone out there had problems with this gearshift...or any of the other components on the MB%. Thanks in advance, Rgds, Stephen |
