1628.0. "Nishiki ATB info needed" by GOBACK::FOX () Mon Jul 09 1990 11:35

    Does anyone know a dealer of Nishiki mountain bikes in the southern
    NH, or eastern MA area, or the phone number of the distributor?
    Any comments on their ATB's in general, or the 1989 Pinnicle?
    I'm thinking of getting one mail order.

1628.1Some Southern NH choices.SALEM::SHAWMon Jul 09 1990 12:5732

    Hi John, I did not see a Nishiki at Buchika's in Salem. But Since
    they had some great mt. bikes on sale, I thought I let you know.

    They have fishers there which are great quality. However what impressed
    me the most was there selection of Cannondale bikes. Within the
    price range of 550 - 1200 you have a good selection.

    If you are in the market for one of the best, Buchika's has quite
    a few custom frame's from Brodie (tops!) with wonderful custon paint
    jobs. and you can select your own componantry to add on. ie. the
    Shimano Deore XT.

    I am in the Market for another mt. bike too. I found a great choice,
    if you are in the market for a real good quality, competition level
    frame and componantry, at affordable prices, I found two great choices
    in Derry NH (bike barn too)
    Mongoose IBOC-COMP with mono stay rear fork and straight front forks
    which translates into quick handling reponse.
    Shimano 500LX components , shifters, brakes etc..
    Araya RX-7 rims and monghoose 26X1.95 tires (same as farmer johns
    cousin). This is probably the best comptition level bike you can
    get at shuch a low price . 570.00

    The second choice there was a GIANT ATX 760 (the ATX is a new model
    for Giant)
    This bike has oversize tubing so it is lighter than the Monghoose.
    With Shimano Deore LX componentry. for $530.00

    If you consider Hillboro, NH as southern NH, try Pedling Fool. They
    carry Nishiki, Klein, Haro, Marin, Fat Chance. They're nice people
    to talk to/do business with. The only problem is they're only open
    'till 5:30 on weekdays, but James (the owner) will stay around if
    he knows you're coming up.

    Their number is 603.464.5286 (ask for James)

    Standard disclaimer - I have no connections with these guys whatsoever
    other than I like their service after the sale and their general
    attitude when I stop by to visit/chat/shoot the BS/etc.

    They also schedule monthly rides with courses for all levels of rider.
    These people are all REALLY into biking and ride year round.

    Anyway, I've rambled enough!!

1628.3I just want to try one onGOBACK::FOXMon Jul 09 1990 14:217
    Thanks for the info. I'll probably get a leftover 89 tho. A lot of
    the mail order places have them, and they really drop the prices.
    For example: 89 Nishiki Pinnacle, Deore XTII Hyperglide, Prestige
    frame, etc, - 600 bucks.
    The only problem is finding one in a popular frame size.
