1538.0. "REQ: Info on Lake Winnie ride" by CASPRO::MURPHY (Fun times when you're havin' flies) Fri May 11 1990 15:36

    Hello,

I am going on a ride around Lake Winnipesakee this coming Wednesday.
I presently am not quite sure how to go about that. Getting on the
bike and starting to pedal is as far as I've planned....

Actually, we're planning on starting in Alton Bay and going counter-
clockwize using routes 109, 25, 3, and 11. Are there any less
travled back roads we could take instead?

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Steve

There are lettered versions of 11 that parallel 11 and are better roads
for cycling. You'll see them on the map. 11D and 11B not 11A unless
you want to climb, climb, climb, ...

Did you mean 28? I've never taken Roberts cove rd and chestnut cove
road or 28A as alternates to 28 but they look worth checking out. 28
gets really busy about where 28A cuts in so it might be a good idea.

Last year Lynda and I went on a ride around the lake with a great group
of people. I think it was the last weekend in July. We met so may new
faces that I have forgotten names. We had planned on trying out a
tandem but things didn't work out. Instead we hammered around the lake
in a wonderful paceline on single bikes.
Well I bought a tandem since then and we want to do the ride again
along with about four other tandem couples. Lynda lost her map of the
ride and I gave mine to someone who needed it. Does someone have a map
that we could have a copy of. I remember taking some roads that
problably are not on a regular road map. Also if there are any tandem
couples or single bikes that might want to come along that would be
great. We will go sometime in July or August so we can go swimming
    after the ride again.

Hi Norm,

I'll see what I can do about getting the map for that ride. I'm the "regular"
stoker for the person who organized that ride.

I'll give him a call and get back to you.

An added not of caution. This is the cue sheet from a ride offered in the summer
of 1990. There are references to stores etc. that may or may not be there now.
I have never done this ride so you're on your own!
