1428.0. "ZIPP COMPOSITES..." by WMOIS::C_GIROUARD () Wed Feb 21 1990 13:39

     Just going through TRASHBAR and stopped at the ZIPP wheels. Really
    neat, very pricey. BTW, the catalog is sure coming along with all
    gloss pages and a lot of new manufacturers and lines of stuff.

     Back to ZIPP, any thoughts? How 'bout that additional $30.00
    for colored rims, pretty petty eh?

     Anyone out there have these. I know they make the same claims
    as HED and Campy... any REAL info out there????

    Read the fine print carefully. The zzip wheels in the Nashbar catalog
    are for tubular wheels only.

1428.2AS YOU SAY "FRIVOLOUS EXOTICA"WMOIS::C_GIROUARDThu Feb 22 1990 11:595
    Hey Norm, yup, I know. I'm not into tubulars, but sometimes these
    sacrifices have to be made in the name of frivolous exotica and
    immortality...

          If nothing else, an $1800+ wheel set could help rationalize
      a $2000 frame set.

         "How could I possibly put those wheels on a mere Serotta. It's
      titanium or nothing for these babies!"
