| The TV newsmagazine Evening Magazine (in Boston) had a nice little
piece on Lemond last night. Seems there's going to be a movie based on
his hunting accident and comeback. And companies are practically
throwing money at him for endorsements. Those eight billion miles he's
ridden in his life are paying off bigtime now. He's still a regular
guy though. With the way everyone was writing him off you'd think he'd
like to spit in their faces but he's cool about it. Just lets his
riding do the talking.

| In one of the replies that isn't here anymore due to whatever problems
occurred with this conference over the last day or so, I mentioned
that ESPN would be replaying the tape of the World's at 3:00 AM
Wed. morning. I got the info from the Sunday Globe TV section which
I then promptly threw away so I can't re-confirm it. Anyway, I set
up my trusty VCR for the appointed hour but to my horror this morning
when I went to sneak a peek before leaving for work, I see Ivan
Lendl playing Miroslav Mecir in tennis. I humbly apologize to anyone
else who made the mistake of believing that I know what I am talking
about and also missed out on the action.
Does anyone know if/when ESPN will be showing the tape again ?

| I used your incorrect advice to ask a friend to tape it for me. Not
being one to trust hearsay he checked the schedule and taped it for me
on Tuesday morning. I will view the tape tonight and then be willing
to lend it ... (For non-commercial uses, of course.)

I say the program on Sunday and thought it was very good coverage.
As mentioned earlier it was all LeMond. Would liked to have
seen a little more of others like Fignon and Kelly. I also have
the program on tape and can make copies.

Has anyone heard anything about Greg Lemond crashing head on with
a car recently?...I read a short blurb in the Globe a few days ago
and expected to see a write up in here somewhere...From what I
remember he was only slightly injured.

Poor car....
I saw him on television last sunday, struggling through the
Ronde van Vlaanderen...
Last week he participated in the 3-days of the Panne; as that's
in Belgium he returned home at night, and crashed his car somewhere
somehow. But nothing serious, or he wouldn't have participated
last sunday.

The following info is from Reuters Sports Report (31 March 93):
Lemond was slightly injured in a head-on car crash near the Belgian
city of Ghent. A police official said Lemond was taken to hospital by
ambulance after the crash late on Tuesday and released after treatment.
He said he had no information of the nature of the injuries. The driver
of the other car also suffered minor injuries.
