    I have a Avocet 20 computer and I have gone through 2 batteries this
    season.  Has anyone had a similar problem? This could be a real pain
    if the battery dies every 4 months.

	You have a bad unit, and this is a common problem. Get it replaced under the warranty, another brand would be your best bet judging my my experience. The Cateye Vectra is similar and works well except that it is too easy to reset. Lincoln (MA) Guide Service was very helpful when I had the same problem. ~Mike

	I went through 3 of the Cateye, none worked right. I now have an Avocet 20, the first battery lasted 22 months, 6500 mi. , it also has been totaly trouble free in "the wet"
