1237.0. "Bikecology/Supergo Experiences?" by ASIC::NBLIAMPTIS (multiprocessing as a way of life) Fri Jul 07 1989 16:42

I am planning on buying a Supergo Access Comp mountain bike
from Bikecology mailorder this week. It seems to be a good deal.
I have seen Bikecology adds in Bicycling Magazine for at least
    2-3 years.

I was wondering if any noters have heard any good/bad things
    about Bikecology and/or their bicycles?

    Thanks,
    		Nick

I've been thinking of buying a Supergo ...

"Mountain Bike Action" (aka MBA) has good things to say about them.

Nick, did you end up getting the bike? If so how did it work out?

Anyone else have anything to add ...
1237.2good prices, not user friendlyASIC::NBLIAMPTISmultiprocessing as a way of lifeThu Aug 10 1989 12:0229
I got the bike, put it together, and since I got it back from
my brother, I've been riding it every day. A fine bike.

Bikecology was supposed to ship the bike within 2 days of my
order and UPS shipping takes 7 working days. However, they "had
some problems getting the bikes through customs". So it took an
    extra 3-4 days.
Also, Bikecology will only ship to the address on the credit
card, so I couldn't send it to my parents home where someone could
    sign for it.

Overall, Bikeology seems to have very good prices, but be prepared
for some mild hassles. Even with these reservations, I would be
willing to do business with them again.

Also of interest is the fact that they have many more models
of bicycles than they advertise in Bicycling Magazine. Some examples
    are listed below:

    		Panasonic DX-4000
(Shimano 105, Tange Champion Frame)	$379

    		Specialized Stumpjumper
    			(Deore II) $659

    		Anonymous Manufacturer "Stealth" Bike
    			(Ultegra, Tange Prestige) $699

Remember - no tax, shipping included

I have some additional random information which I dug up for
a noter who sent me mail. I thought it might be of general interest.

They can ship to Europe in two ways:

		1. Federal Express, at an approximate cost of over US$100,

		2. US Mail to a Post Office Box in Europe (APO), at an
    		approximate cost of US$35.

Should you wish to contact Bikecology their address and phone
    number are listed below:

		Bikecology

		Santa Monica, CA
