| I ordered some Ritchey Vantage /Shimano Deore wheels from Nashbar about
6 weeks ago. I am supposed to get them at the end of this month
(April).
Right now i ride on the Specialized GX-?? that came on the Stumpjumper.
I'll update you when i get them.

| I have the new Sun Metal Chinook rims on my new Klein Top Gun.
These american made rims are second in weight only to Ritchey Vantages.
I have not had a single problem with them, in fact they have 200
miles of hard "trail" riding and still don't need to be trued.
One of the bicycling magazines (Mountain Bike Action ?) put a pair
of these rims on a mountain tandem and tried to wreck them without
much luck. I'm sold.

| I have recently had a set of wheels built (mavic 231 rims Shimano STX
hubs), but they were supplied without rim tape, rather than go to the
trouble of buying new rim tapes and having to wait to get my bike on
the road, has anyone tried electrical insulating tape as an
alternative, or any other product that is as effective as rim tape but
not as expensive.

| I really wonder about you guys - you spend x00 on a pair of wheels and then
scrabble about trying to save fourpence.
But then I'm not having one of my more tolerant days ...

| Duct tape works great, we always used to use it in a shop I worked in.
It doesn't move like some rim tapes.
Electrical tape should work fine also.
