| PROBABILITY of a Blizzard that wk, 2 in 10 (2 in the past decade,
and there hasn't been a decent yet snow this year).
Rain 45%, but this year's very dry. and 6 days out of 12 ain't
half bad. Temps, frost over night likely, daytime highs 45 to 75.
Bring the bike!

| Some people claim that New England has a Spring, but in five
years, I never saw any evidence of it. It's usually cold and
messy until June, and then uncomfortably hot.
Of course, you should take my opinion with a grain of salt:
I came to the Boston area from Virginia! (I also have to
admit that the New England "Spring" never stopped me from
riding.)
So maybe you should bring your bike; you could be lucky.

| If you are coming next week, don't bring your bike.
I'm coming next week and bringing my bike, which is
bound to guarantee some combination of blizzard,
hurricane, and black-fly attack.

| I'm about 20 mi. N of MRO. Yesterday afternoon it was in the
'50s and bright and sunny. Took a nice leasurly 15 mile ride thru
the hills of Harvard. You luck out sometimes.
During your stay, you should have some really nice days, (and
probably, some rotten weather). Just be prepared to take advantage
of the nice ones! - Chris

1042.5 | Spring! | IAMOK::WESTER | | Wed Mar 15 1989 15:06 | 6 |
| I was out at lunch today and it's great outside. A pack of at least
15 riders went by on Virginia Rd. in Concord. I saw three more
riders around town. Looks as though Spring is making some serious
attempts at arriving!

| Nashoba Valley Pedalers has Saturday show-'n-go rides leaving
from the Boxborough Sheraton (just off I-495 at Rt. 111 exit) at
10:00 AM. Rides vary depending on weather, and the people who show
up. Anywhere from 15 to 20 miles on a so-so day to 50+ on perfect
days, usual is more like 30 miles. Beautiful area to ride in.

This is sounding better and better. I'd certainly be up for a 60
miler on the 8th. What about Sunday?

1042.12 | Sunday ride is in Concord | ICBB::JSMITH | I Bike Solo II | Sat Mar 18 1989 18:55 | 9 |
| There is a Sunday ride on the 9th of April, but it
departs from Concord which would add another 45 minutes
to your commute. Best bet is the Saturday rides from the
Tara. If it rains on Saturday, Ed runs the 100 the following
day. If you'd like to just see some of Southern N.H. on
your own, we can give you route sheets or directions to just
about anywhere in the South Eastern part of the state.

I knew it. I just knew it! Here Ed is doing a 100 in subarctic
latitudes, and the local Charlotte bike club's spring climax is
a (metric!) century.

| Well, I've ridden down there in the Carolinas in the springtime
and you folks have to build up a tolerance to that heat. Here
we don't have any heat to protect ourselves from.
