943.0. "Cycling in Arizona" by CIMBAD::DESHARNAIS () Thu Dec 15 1988 16:46

I will be flying out to Tucson for vacation the third week in
January. I would like to do some cycling when I get there.
I'm not sure if I should pack up by bike and bring it along
or rent one when I get there. Any opinions on this? If
I decide to rent, can anyone recommend a good bike shop in
    Arizona that rents bikes?

Also, can anyone recommend some good cycling routes in the
Tucson area? I will be making mostly day trips during the
week. I don't plan on riding much more then 50 miles a day,
which means I won't be riding too far from the city.

Are there any bicycling guides available for Arizona?

Thanks for any information you can offer.

    Regards,
    Denis

    Thanks for the pointers.

I called the Tucson chapter of the G.A.B.A, and the guy who answered
the phone was very helpful. He talked about some of the better
bike shops and routes in the area. He also gave me a phone number
with a recording of the upcoming rides in Tucson. (602-885-8807)

    Thanks for the info.

                            -< Cycling in Arizona >-

I met a lady on a ride across California last summer who can give you all the
information that you need about Tuscon. She is active in GABA. If you call,
I'm sure she'll fix you up with everything you need. She is a good rider and
knows the area well.

Good luck.
