    Has anyone out there been participating in the velodyne races ?
    They are going on in many of the area bike shops. Such as gamache's,
    wheel works,landry's,chelmsford cyclery,cycle loft,international
    etc. 
    
    There are prizes given at each location. 1. helmet - 2. bike computer
    3. cycling gloves - 4+5. water bottle cages.
    
    all of the information is in triathlon magazine. also may be in
    cycling magazines.
    
    the fastest time i have seen is 5:25 at level 8. mine is 5:34 level
    8.
    
    what kind of times are out there. i am interested in seeing how
    i compare to the rest of the world.

	well what an overwhelming response ! it turns out that the response in all of mass was not good. having called all 14 of the shops that sponsored the race i have come to the following conclusions. i had the 5th or 6th fastest time in the state. as i am not that fast i find this to be very suprising. i did make one mistake, i invited MARK 'the hammer' REID to ride at the shop i was riding at (chelmsford cyclery). he posted a 5:09, good enough to place tied for 2nd or third in mass. the reason i cannot pinpoint the exact placing is one of the shops refused to tell the best time they had. although they hinted that it was under 5:00. ya sure it was. ps. many (4-5) of the shops had 0 participants. meaning that a free helmet or computer was out there for simply participating. if anyone else rode please post time ! jeff

	kill the cat ??? no comprende the name of the shop was east providence cycle co. south attleboro. ma 617-399-7888 one other thing of note. the following prizes were given by the cycle loft in burlington (who also are going to sponser weekly velodyne races). 1. $150 gift certificate 2. $75 gift certificate 3. $50 gift certificate 4. $50 gift certificate 5. ??? jeff

	Re .3 Curiosity killed the cat, comprende? Have not seen these "dyno" races mentioned in "Bicycling" mag., does the Cycle Loft in Burlington need advanced registration? Did they give away all of the gift certificates? What's the deal? Curious.

	curious, the nationally advertised velodyne races sponsored by scwinn are over. therefore all of the gift certificates have been awarded. you will have to call the cycle loft (617-272-0870) to find out about the weekly races and what the prizes for that are. jeff
