I have a ATB and want to go to a smaller width and smoother tire. Does anyone know the size of various rims in relationship to tire size. I think my tires are now 26 X 2.? and my friend's are 26X1.9 Can we go to a 26 X 1.25 Specialized Fat boy tire..

The Nashbar catalog has a rim-to-tire compatability chart..... I have 1.5 inch RIMS on my StumpJumper (gx-20??) and have 2.0 inch tires on the rims (Ritchey duroK). My Sierra has 1.75 inch RIMS and came with 1.5 inch tires. If I can go to .25 size smaller on the Sierra (araya) rims, then I would guess that you could go at least .25 inches smaller than on your RIMS. What size rims do you have ( present tire size is unimportant)?? Like I said, the Nashbar catalog has a chart..... |
