Does anyone out there have a "TAKARA" brand bike? I saw one over
the weekend that I'm considering buying, but I've never heard of
that brand before. I'm an amateur, but it seemed to be pretty
good quality...

Yeah, I've heard of Takara. They've been around since the late 70s. They make pretty good bikes - roughly comparable in quality with Miyata and Nishiki. - Dick | |||||

I have a Takara Professional that I bought new about 7 years ago.
It came outfitted with Suntour Cyclone components. Nice bike.
It's held up well over the years. I bought new wheels for it last
year, otherwise, everything is original.
