845.0. "Need advice - bike purchase" by CLT::MURRY () Wed Aug 31 1988 18:02

    I'm looking to buy a new bike for <$350 and I live in Nashua,NH.
    Does anyone have any advice on what bike shops to go to in the
    Nashua area and what type of bike I can get for this kind of $$
    I'm just wanting a good, solid bike for recreation.

    Thanks,
    Dave

    Goodale's in Downtown Nashua is a good store. Sunshine sports
    is now back in the ski business but they might have some good
    deals so they can make space.

    Happy Day Cycles in Milford is a good dealer if you want to go that
    far. You should call to verify hours.

    	If you want to take a drive to Peterborough, you could
    	check out Lorentzens (?). You'll have to ask someone
    	where it is. It's kinda in an alley. There are other
    	notes in this conference that contain the appropriate
    	information.

    	As Ed mentioned, Goodale's is a good place to look, and
    	Sunshine Sports. Two locations for Sunshine:

    		South DW Highway, across from Peasant Lane Mall

    		West 101A, just east of Milford

    	Sunshine is usually expensive, although I got a great deal
    	on a Thule rack set the other day. Price matched the catalogs
    	I had looked at.

845.3LOOK at Goodale's ??WITNES::MACONEHas anyone seen my Pocket Protector?Thu Sep 01 1988 10:198
    When I was buying a bike last June, I went into Goodales on 2
    occasions. They had a good selection, and many bikes that I wanted
    to look at. However, both times I was there for a least a half
    an hour, and couldn't get a salesperson over to show me some bikes.

    As both previous notes mentioned, Goodale's is a good place to LOOK.

    lexington cycle is a good place to purchase a bike. they are small
    so you will get plenty of help. also, what they donot have on display
    they can get from their distibutors. i have bought 2 CILO's and
    a shogun from them and have been pleased with the bikes and service.
    also prices on bikes are negotiable.

    			good luck !!!!!!!!

845.5Try Nault's in ManchesterVISUAL::MILLINGBob Milling, MKO2-2/K03, 264-2068Thu Sep 01 1988 12:056
    I believe that Nault's and Sons in Manchester is a good place to
    shop. I've not bought a bike there but they have a good selection
    and there is always someone ready to help although this may change
    after school starts.

845.6Personnel at Nault's is a revolving door.NOVA::FISHERBMB FinisherThu Sep 01 1988 16:115
    Nault's has had 5 managers in 7 years. I've always wanted to go
    back to a place where the manager knew me and I don't think that
    will ever happen at Nault's.

845.7A DRIVE TO MASS MAY NOT BE BADAKOV11::FULLERThu Sep 01 1988 17:506
    It's a long drive (1 hour) but you may wish to drive to O'Neil's
    in Worcester. They are offering an early fall sale to DEC employees
    only of 20% off. This includes all bikes, not just ones they want
    to get rid of because they can't sell. See note 812.

    I'm looking into picking up a nice touring unit. So far, I've
    looked at a Trek, a Bianchi, and a Cannondale (Gamache's and
    Gear Works, Fitchburg area). I'm looking at spending about a
    grand on this bike.

    Any comments/advice would be greatly appreaciated.

    Thanks,
