835.1 | probably a good idea | AQUA::OCONNOR | The law dont want no gear-gammer | Thu Aug 25 1988 13:20 | 6 |
| I was not a veteran racer, but I was a Cat 3/4. I found that most
of the races offered were very short criteriums. However, if you
are serious about racing then it is probably worth while to get
a license.

835.2 | good idea if you want competition | RANGLY::PFISTER_ROB | I cant put *THAT* here..... | Fri Aug 26 1988 07:43 | 10 |
| I used to be a CAT III as well [and plan on getting my license back
this spring] If you are willing to do some research, and to drive
a little ways you can find whatever type race you are looking for.
There are lots of Crit's around, but there are enough road races
in the 30-90 mile category around too, not to mention the district
championship's that any license can go to..
[I'm in Maine, so I gotta drive at least 3 hours to go to most races]

| Of course, you can be penalized by having your USCF license suspended
if you take part in any unlicensed race -- like WISILL and the like.
