763.0. "Get towns to fix Grates" by ULTRA::WITTENBERG (Secure Systems for Insecure People) Thu Jul 07 1988 14:39
Does anyone know what form a letter to a town warning of wheel
eating sewer grates should take? There are several on my way to
work, and I'd like to ask the town to change them in such a way
that if I crash on one they won't be able to say: "You knew about
it, it's your negligence." It would also be desireable that this
letter puts them on warning, so that if they don't fix it, and
someone else falls on it the town will be clearly negligent.
The purpose is to get the town to fix the grates, and the legal
aspects are secondary. Given the current legalistic society, I
would rather use a form letter if someone at BABC or LAW has
figured out exactly what the wording should be.
