Any Subaru wagon owners out there??
Our GL wagon has the fancy roof rack which can be fitted with a
bike carrier sold by the dealer (instead of buying an entire new
rack from Thule or whomever).
Has anyone bought this??? Comments???
BTW please don't respond about *other* racks; there are other notes
for that!!

I haven't tried the bike carrier, but I think the basic roof-rack
design sucks. It can't be locked, and is attached to the roof with
only a few pop-rivets. I wouldn't trust it to hold anything
substantial, so if you ever want to carry anything heavier, you'll
have to get a Yakima or Thule anyway.
BTW- the wide rain gutters mean that not all aftermarket racks will
fit; yakima just barely makes it, but I don't know about thule.
