    I just learned a neat trick for removing handgrips without destroying
    them. Just take a hypodermic syringe with a medium sized needle
    an inch or so long. Suck up some of the soap solution you'd use
    for installing the new grips. Then stick the needle sort of
    tangentially sideways into the grip until it contacts the handlebar
    and squirt some of the soap solution under the grip until it runs out
    between the bar and grip. We shot some in halfway down the grip and
    some near the outer end. Work the grip around a little bit and it will
    slide right off.
    
    The grips we did this on were mountain bike grips, but I suspect
    you could also use it on drop bar Spenco grips, etc. It might also help
    in installing that type of grip, but I haven't tried that.

	Sounds great, but where do you get a hypodermic syringe & needle? (Here in the people's republic of Massachusetts they are illegal.)

	This sounds good if you use soap to put your grips on. The only drawback to soap is that when they will loosen up in the rain. (Personally I use contact cement, and forget about recovering the grips, as I cant stand loose grips on a wet day) You could also try liberal doses of water to remove them grip. Robb

	I use hair spray to glue the grips on. To get them off, I use air pressure. I stick a length of cable housing into my silca pump, the other end goes into the little hole at the end of the grip (if there isn't one, I drill a little one) I cover the other end of the handlebar with my thumb, and with a few pumps; Blowie! It pops right off. It's even kind of fun! Alan.
