I called Colorado Cyclist yesterday to place an order, I am buying the Chours group. I asked for the Chours 7speed set up and they said they are shipping all the Campy 7speed groups with the Syncro 2 shift levers. I thought that was great until I heard that Syncro 2 will not work with the Chours group. Is this true or just dust in the wind??? Joe

I am riding a Campy Record C group. I innitially installed this group with a Synchro I. It did not work well. I have replaced it with a Synchro II. It is a great improvement. However it is still not 100%. The problem is the Record C derailer is not a slant parallelagram, making the pully too far away from the free wheel, especially on the lg chain ring. Although chorus is a slant para. it does not have the positive action of Croce D'Aune. The spacing of a 7 speed makes necessary overshifting of campy tight. I know someone local that recently installed Syncro II and Chorus. I will talk to him and get back to you. I feel the best set up for Campy Syncro probably will be a good quality stiff chain (regina america), Croce D'Aune, and an evenly spaced free wheel (regina america, shimano 600).
740.2 | opinions on Chorus? | IAMOK::WESTER | Fri Jul 08 1988 14:02 | 3
I'd be real interested in opinions on Campy Chorus. I'm looking at a Richard Sachs that comes with Chorus, and I'm curious as to how well it performs.

Joe, I have tested the Chorus/syncro II. I did not answer your note 740, I messed up and wrote to note 800. You will find it there. Pat |
