Did you notice that The Globe didn't even have an article on Hampsten's victory? The first American ever to win the Tour de Giro, and the only publicity I saw was a few sentence under the "NAMES:" section of the Globe sports pages. Bicycle racing has a long way to go in the U.S. Phil p.s. I was actually looking for the race results that Matt Johnson participated in.
