725.1 | Try the adjustment screws | MTBLUE::PFISTER_ROB | Bike hard, or sell it | Tue Jun 14 1988 22:27 | 11 |
| [I'm assuming you are having problems with your front derailler,
but the process for the rear derailler is identical]
This sounds more like a problem with the front derailler adjustment
than the manufacturer of the frame. My guess is that the min/max
adjustment screws aren't set quite right on your bike. With a Phillips
screwdriver and a few minutes of trying you should be able to solve
the problem. Just keep tightening down the adjustement screw until
the chain stops falling off while shifting.

| Thanks Rob! I visited my friendly neighborhodd bike shop (The Broken
Spoke, Hudson, MA) yesterday and he said the very same thing. He
is going to adjust it for me Sunday. I love problems with simple
answers!!

725.3 | Easy to do it yourself | DR::BLINN | Put a REAL pinhead in the Oval Office! | Wed Jun 15 1988 10:31 | 5 |
| It's really a pretty straight-forward adjustment on most gear
sets / derailleurs. You should probably learn to do it by
yourself, especially if you want to ride this week.
