488.0. "ONE BIG STEP" by STAR::MCCARTHY () Fri Oct 23 1987 10:22
I finally made the big step, I ordered my first custom frame!!!
The bike shop I went through was Category 1 Cyclegoods in Tyngsboro
Mass. Paul who is the owner is an amazing guy, he walks you through
the entire process of ordering a custom frame. He talks about your
needs the type of rider you are your overall mental outlook on biking
in general. His knowledge on fit kitting is what sold me, he spent
3 hours measuring and talking to me on just what would be perfect
for my body and style of riding. The builder I went with is Marinoni
who is from Canada. Paul knows him personally and highly recommends
him. Unfortunatly I have long thighs and a short torso so I had
to go custom which starts at $615 after you add on your custom paint
and crome plus whatever else you like it ends to be around $750.
Thats a pretty big step for me but the frame should last. The only
thing I have to do now is find some money for components!!!!
If anyone is thinking of ordering a new frame I would recommend
checking this guy out. My frame won't be ready until the last week
in April so get your orders in know!!!!
Joe
