468.0. "UNICYCLE NEEDED !!!" by TAV02::MICKY (Micky Bronfeld) Mon Sep 14 1987 12:39
I live in sunny Israel and I have a very serious
problem on my hands (besides trying to find my way
around in this "NOTES" utility).
I've decided one morning that I'm going to be a
UNICYCLE rider (I'm still young for such a sport -
only 38),and indeed I've managed to learn how to
hold on to it,riding (only forward,for the time being)
in the streets near my house,causing car drivers
to lose control,and children to applause while running
after me.
Now,only trouble is that I can't find a decent Unicycle
for myself,in order to learn some real tricks,ALL OVER
MY COUNTRY (We know how to build aeroplanes - Unicycles
are too complicated for us !).
Since I'm really desparate to acquire an aluminum
(lighter and more professional than steel),24 inch wheel
Unicycle (prefferably, a Japan made MIYATA ),and I
don't forsee a trip to the United States or Japan in
the near future,I've decided to look for the one who
will be able (and willing) to purchase and send to me
overseas the only thing (except my wife,of course !)
that will make me happy.
Obviously,I'll be happy to pay the expences involved.
So, will somebody help me to make a dream come throught ?

468.1 | UNICYCLE HELP.... | GUCCI::MOEN | | Thu Sep 24 1987 14:50 | 12 |
| First, getting the unicylcle of your choice is probably only a matter
of a good bike shop. The one by my house seems to be able to get
anything thats in production. (I'm in Maryland...outside D.C. suburb)
Second, You have mastered something I'm having trouble with...learning
how to ride a unicycle. I bought one early this year and have put
it on the shelf since I could not find anyone or any information
on how to learn. What should I do? What's the secret?
Thanks,
Craig (GUCCI::MOEN)

| Now heres an old note Almost 5 years old...
I just hopped on a unicycle a week ago and after not riding one for
about 15 years was able to jump right on pick up a young kid and go
tourin. It was great, the kid almost sh#t...
I was able to go backwards and and down stairs with it, with out the
kid though, whew!! I could still do it. It's amazing that I got on as
though I was on one the day before.
Anyway does anyone have a unicycle to sell, mine of many years ago
was a Schwinn and was built tough!! I had a couple that the pedals
would shimmy or move, and that blows the whole balance thing right off.
Does anyone know of a TOP QUALITY unicycle being made today, I'm not as
light as I used to be (250 all muscle) :-) ya right!!
I have never heard of the Myada (sp) note .0 .1 if your still with
the company did you ever learn to ride???
gards,

| You might ask in the juggling notesfile. Juggler's are often unicycle
riders as well...
