A DAY OF PEDAL-POWERED CELEBRATION AT RIVERBEND PARK, BY THE CHARLES
RIVER, ON MEMORIAL DRIVE (which is closed to cars for most of the
day) IN CAMBRIDGE,
Sponsored by American Youth Hostels, Boston Area Bicycle Coalition,
Charles River Wheelmen, International Human Powered Vehicle
Associaton.
Note: This is NOT Grapenuts, it was scheduled for this date long
before they changed their date (to our date). It will be much
better and less commercial than that other thing.
ALL SPONSORS ARE LOCAL NON-PROFIT BICYCLE ORGANIZATIONS.
DATE: Sunday, September 13.
START: All rides start and end at the intersection of Flagg Street
and Memorial Drive in Cambridge.
8:30 Ride to the Blue Hills, 56 miles
9:00 Ride to the Races, Boston Road Club Criterium, 22 miles.
(to and from the race, not in it)
11-5:00 Past/present/future Bikes exhibition. Lots of interesting
and exotic pedal powered machines.
1:00 AYH Hostel Tour, new Boston Internation Hostel, 7 Miles.
2:00 Emerald Necklace ride around Boston, 15 miles.
3:00 Rails to Trails Tour of converted right of way, 15 miles.
4:00 Raffle Drawing of Prizes donated by local bike shops for
those who paid $2.00 for entry or $10.00 for entry and
T-shirt. Free otherwise.
Plus Lots of exhibitions, demo, fun.
