415.1 | Specialized | JETSAM::HANAUER | Mike... Bicycle~to~Ice~Cream | Mon Aug 10 1987 13:21 | 27 |
| I bought a Specialized Sequoia from International in Brighton on
July 9 (don't have it yet). Since this bike apparently is not made
anymore, it is last years model. As best as I can tell, Specialized
is only making racing and ATB bikes now.
Based on my search (and thanks to some of you who gave me pointers
in note 324), it appears that Belmont Wheelworks and International
carry Specialized.

415.3 | Int. Bike Cntr. is AWESOME!! | NUGGET::ALDEN | | Tue Aug 11 1987 09:25 | 10 |
| International Bicycle Center in Allston is potentially the best
bike shop in the entire Boston area. Aside from carrying a complete
line of Specialized ATB's, they have the best selection of any Boston
area store. Some examples: they will be an exclusive Kestrel dealer,
they have THE best selection of disk wheels in all of New England
(I think) - 5 different brands. Also, they are the only dealer
I know of that carries the Scott DH handlebars. Oh, by the way,
they have had Look kevlar frames since January. Now if this small
sampling of what they offer does not entice you, I don't know what
will.

415.4 | The Real Story | STAR::TEAGUE | I'm not a doctor,but I play one on TV... | Tue Aug 11 1987 09:52 | 16 |

Thanks for the suggestions. Frankly, I'm not interested in buying a
Specialized bike for myself...I already own a 1987 Stumpjumper that's the
best bike I've ever had.
A little of this long story is outlined in note # 344. Briefly, my
girlfriend and I ordered twin Stumpjumpers. Mine was great, but hers never
*did* work right. The dealer offered to order her a new bike, but now
Specialized has no more 1987 Stumpjumpers...period.
So...we're looking for reasonably local Specialized dealers that typically
keep a large inventory. Maybe we can find a place that still has some
'87s left over.
