Have any of you noters ever rode in the Paris-Brest-Paris ride? This sounds like the ultimate test for the long distance touring type of rider. How about telling us about the experience. I've been looking through the bicycle mags for articles but there isn't much to be found. Will there be qualification rides in Boston for this year's PBP? Just curious, I'm not ready for this type of ride YET, but it sounds like a great challenge. Too bad it only comes up every 4 years. Regards, Denis

Greetings, I've not done PBP yet but I have completed all the "brevets" (qualifying rides) for the upcoming PBP. It is the ultimate experience for ANY type of rider be they tourist, racer, or just plain mileage freak. This "thing" has more history than the Tour de France. It has been going on for more years than The Tour. In fact, the one in 1991 will be the 100th anniversary of PBP. Some where in my archives I have an article about it. Send me a physical address and I'll US mail it to you. Go for it next time around! Imagine the thrill of participating in a "ride" that's 100 years old! regards Gary | |||||
