	New England Area Rally (NEAR) status as of 4/15/87

	Apartments:  26 of the 75 apartments have been reserved. These 
		are a super deal, convenient, etc.  If interested, get
		your reservation in SOON!

	Regular registration: about 260 so far.  Limit will be 1500.

	Special Guests:  Lon and Sue Halderman.  Lon will give presentations
		on his May tandem cross-country attempt with Pete Pensyrs
		(sp?), and on RAMM over the years.  Sue will have a workshop
		on women's activities in cycling.  (Sue is due any day now.
		They expect to bring a 3 month old on rides in a bugger.)

	Workshops: about 15 to 20 different topics expected.

	Exhibits: about 25 to 30 companies/groups will have exhibits.

	Rides: about 25 different rides from around-the-block to double
		metric (? Ed ?).  Good markings, good maps, etc.

	Future NEAR: NBW is interested in NEAR '89 for URI at Kingston. (Same
		location as 1980 Centennial LAW rally.)
