257.0. "Advice Needed" by CYGNUS::JOHNSON () Wed Apr 08 1987 10:01

Does anyone know of the reputation of the Taiwanese Jetta series?
My budget tends to keep the amount of money I want to spend on a
bike to a minimum. Im expecting to do around 50 miles per
weekend. For the price $239.00 I understand it compares to the
    Shogun 300 series. Any comments?

Also, has anyone dealt with David Kahn at the Milford bicycle shop
in Milford? After shopping around, I've found his prices to be
just about the best in the area. He's got excellent deals on Shoguns,
and all his 1986 series are on sale. He's having a big sale on
all his equipment this coming weekend.

I've talked with David a few times and he is knowlegable
about bikes. He can give you good service, which is a
real good reason for using a local bike shop. Also,
in Worcester, is Bicycle Alley a little further away
    	but a fine shop.

The models I was looking at were the Shogun and Jetta. I really
didn't look at what else they carried, but I know they had a wide
    variety of names. Directions:

Take 495 South to Milford, route 85. Bear to the right off the
exit and follow street down to lights. Take a right at the
lights (Gas station on left). Follow street to Milford Center.
Once you hit the center the bike shop is on the left, at I believe
the second light in the center. Really easy to find.
