233.0. "Atlanta, GA clubs?" by SAHQ::LILLY () Fri Mar 13 1987 12:06
My 14 year old son is an avid cyclist and has been since age four.
That's right, age four. He started on two wheels without the usual
training wheels. At age six, I bought him a new bike complete with
speedometer. During that summer (which are short in Wisconsin),
he put over 900 miles on the bike without even leaving the block.
Anyway, he is now into high performance racing bikes (cross country
type, i guess) and is looking for a club here in Atlanta. We have
just moved into the area and need some help finding a club for him.
We live in the Stone Mountain area. Does anyone know of clubs near
the mountain that might be appropriate for him.

| I live in Roswell and cycle in this (Atlanta) area. The major
club in the area is the Southern Bicycle League (SBL). There is
a north Fulton club in Alpharetta. Also there is the track in East
Point for track riding--it is open to the public except when
competition is going on. They also have classes to teach the basic
track competition skills. Oh yes, SBL's magazine can be purchased
at all the shops I have visited in the Atlanta area for $1 and the
application sent in for $10/year for a family.
