Certainly discussion of bicycles and bicycling as they relate
to triathlons is welcome here. The information exchanged may
be of use to the wider audience of bicyclists that inhabit this
conference.
One way to see if there is enough interest to sustain a seperate
triathlon conference is to create the conference, advertise it
in various places, and see who shows up. If there is interest,
the conference will grow. If not, you can kill it off. Be
sure to remember where you announced!

| As an avid triathlete for the last 4 years, I would love to see a means
for us to discuss this topic. The bicycle notes conference has been a great
source for me to get answers to my bike questions. But do you really think
that there are enough of us to set up a viable Tri conference ? I quess the
only way to know for sure is to try (tri?).

| Yes. Technical questions might still go to the specialized (BIKES,
RUNNING...)files, but there are many questions that a biker might
not handle as well as a fellow tri-person. My biker friends say
"...ride more, ride more..."
Any triathlete knows that a man's gotta find time to run...

| The number of replies here (in a short time) suggests to me that
we should try out a TRIATHLON conference.
I will hunt around for a host system. Any suggestions?

| I agree that we should try a conference for triathlons. I've done
1-2/yr for the past four years and with the exception of Triathlon
magazine feel that I am training in a vacuum, I would very much
like to hear what other triathletes have to say.
BTW - I'm not a very good triathlete but I really like the excitement
and the feeling of accomplishment of finishing a "short course"
(1/25/6.2 usually in about 3:05).
I say go for it - I don't care where it is located.

The triathlon conference will be opened on GLIVET::TRIATHLON.

| Does anybody know what the story is with the Triathlon conference on
Glivet ? I've been trying to access it for the last week but keep getting
errors.

look at your DECNET routing to GLIVET. Can you send MAIL there,

The Triathlon conference is on ABBOTT::TRIATHLON
Greg Welch (Aussie) won the world championship. Pigg wasn't in the
top 3.
