Hi There Guys ,
Can someone please advice on this one.....
The problem appears to be with the P-NNI. That is, when the
GigaSwitch/ATM's are rebooted, the ATM level routing information is
exchanged between the switches OK. At some later, undefined time,
the ATM reachable address information disappears from BOTH
switches. (When this happens, LANE ceases to work predictably as
they are using just one of the switches for LES/LECS/BUS.) To
restate, the problem is that all reachable addresses from the
remote switch(es) disappear from the local table, even though the
NNI link is apparently up (Yellow port LED, green MOD PHY's). This
happens on all three switches. I don't know if it happens
simultaneously. When first observed, the switches had been up for
about 5 days.
The work around is to manually configure static reachable address
prefixes on each switch for the other's addresses (or reboot the
switches)
Firmware is 2.1.4 on two switches, third is 2.1.3, active hardware
is DAGGL-BA with DAGGS on the interswitch links. There are
DAGGL-AA and DAGGL-BA in the switches but no ports on these are
currently being used.
If someone has seen this before and know how to overcome this please
let me know URGENTLY....
I wish we had in the manual a SIMPLE EXAMPLE of how to set up ELAN across
number of GIGAswitch/ATMs and other vendor LECs....

Do you need more information about how to set up our servers, or about how to
set up other vendors' LECs?

When this condition occurs, could you type the following two commands on both
the DEC Switches and mail me the info ?

| I would upgrade the GS/ATM that is running V2.1.3 to V2.1.4...
