I have a second question and I think it should be a own entry: Imagin, you do a: atmsig status driver=lta0 [ilmi] at the root-level on a system running DUNIX V4.0B. The output will show something like this: ... ILMI on lta0 (vpi = 0 vci = 16) : Enabled. ILMI State : Unknown ... What is the meening of "Unknown" and from where does it come from, is there any explanation of the ILMI states out there??? In this state we are unable to "ping" our own interface, the message is: "... network down ..." (The environment is the same as in the entry before.) Many thanks in advance Wolfgang Nord MCS@BERLIN@GERMANY

That "unknown" state is a catch-all for a few initial states that often do not last very long. It suggests that you are unable to establish even the most basic ILMI connectivity with the switch. Do you even see any cell traffic with atmconfig vclist long? Perhaps there is a physical problem? Cheers, >Per |
