| John,
It's very hard to understand what exactly did you do and what didn't
you and what was/is your problem?
Did you allow for the "partial match" of your static routes (IISP)?
Are you using the well-known LECS address?
Cheers,
Pedro

| Hi Pedro
I am using the well known LECS, also I am using a partial match. But only found out this info
from the support centre in Valbonne. But there is a conflict on the advice given. One source
suggests creating the static rout on the GS owning the LECS/LES/BUS, and another suggests
creating a static rout onthe remote GS. Which is correct ???.

Well, maybe both? Unless you're using DEC NNI, you'll need a static
route in each of the "remote" GS/ATMs pointing to the well-known LECS
NSAP prefix and one in LECS' GS/ATM for each one of the other GS/ATMs'
prefixes. Let me know if this is not clear for you.
Cheers,
Pedro

889.4 | I will reconfigure the Giga's | CHEFS::16.195.80.52::John Layland | It can only get better | Tue Apr 08 1997 18:47 | 11 |
| Hi Pedro
I will reconfigure the systems and let you know the result. There is a need
for more technical information on the set up of the giga/atm. I have set up
some very complex routed networks in the past including triangulated Decnis's,
and multi redundant banks of decnis's using both decnet phase IV and V. So I
find my difficulty in finding out how to set up what is a basic network
mystifying.
