I happen to be driving one of them last 5 days. It's a free rent a car from the body shop, it has 20,000Km on the clock, hatch back body, automatic. I am -not- impressed with it at all. - Poor performance. - Poor seats (too short, no holds) - Power steering is too light. - Low stability. May be reliable though... Mitz

Didn't Ford buy out Mazda, or at least enter into a partnership? Therein lies the problem, I suspect... Chris$ever_cynical.

.-1 Ford has Mazda's share. 25%? or 40%? or even 49% but less than 50% for sure. Escort and 323 are twin sisters. Mitz

I had a brief drive of the new 323 V6. Very impressive! Probably oneof the smoothest engines I've ever driven.... And the seats were very comfortable too. I've heard and noticed that they have a bit of a problem with misting up the glass... but aircon (if you can afford it) would probably fix that. My wife has a 1.8 323 of the previous shape and aside from parts prices we find it to be a great little car. On that basis if we were to buy one we would probably go for the 1.8 as it is much cheaper than the V6 and gives reasonable performance (although not as good as the last one). |
