Surprised there is no review of this vehicle in th=is conference. FOR: Smart looking, compact people carrier. Probably the most compact MPV. 7 seats, doors either side, plenty of room for 'normal' shopping loads with all seats down. Nice driving position, very car-like. Lots of nooks and crannies to store things. With 'Diamond Pack' all the usual extras (electric sun roof, roof bars, etc etc). Middle seats can be folded to make a table complete with cup holders. Lots of other thoughtful little touches. Great performance for such a vehicle. AGAINST: Higher than expected road noise. 24mpg on test drive (2.0i 16v, Auto). Only a passable stereo (no Dolby etc) but probably poor speakers (4). Worse still, no upgrade possible on stereo. Thats it folks, Richard

To add a few more comments... my Spacewagon is coming up to the end of its lease having done 64,000 miles in 2.5years. In that period nothing has gone wrong, dropped off or generally been a nuisance! Fuel consumption has averaged 30 on short & long drives, but as the engine is amazingly lively it's very tempting to drive at higher than legal speeds. I would agree with Richard's criticism on the radio, it spends a lot of time trying to find FM signals sometimes. Nonetheless I would unreservedly recommend the spacewagon...how's that for a recommendation in this day and age? Colin. | |||||
