| To the author of .1: This conference is not here for the purpose
of letting you insult a colleague in such a way, even if it were
done in humour.
I have set your note hidden.

may apply here too; I'll stand by Richard's decision.

Re .0
When I looked at Corrados one thing put me off.
The 16v is bog slow. They handle nicely, but go like a 2CV - The VR6 is
supposed to be better, but then the insurance got a little silly.

I agree, performance is uninspiring on all but the VR6. Another thing
that put me off was the interior styling. It felt like I was sitting
inside a coal-bunker.

One thing that put some people off the Corrado is the lack of airbags
and stuff like that (not even an option). Having said that, they drive
and handle amazingly well, but the VR6 is the only one to have perform-
ance-wise.

| What about the G60? Do they still make them. They were meant to be the
dogs balls at the time they were introduced.

I think they stopped making the G60 (& the G40) due to them being the
dogs proverbials for straight-line speed, but the supercharger bit tended
to scare the crap out of the driver.

2421.10 | Gloomy interior for $$$ motor | OVAL::CARSON | Don't leave earth without one | Tue Jun 20 1995 15:54 | 11 |
| I tested a G60 a few years back before plumping for the Supra Turbo.
Power seemed adequate but hardly storming. What put me off and me buy
the Supra was the interior. As Clive mentioned, it's a bit grim and
being a hot day at the time it was hot and sweaty cockpit compared to
the a/c'd interior of the chest wig chariot.
Having said that, I'd consider one now if the price was right.

| I had a VR6 for a few months and can honestly say that it was the best
car i've ever driven - even if it was nicked once and replaced!
The 16V is still a good car and feels like it is built to last forever
- it would be worth considering a Golf VR6 for similar money to a good
16V Corrado - the engine is worth it!

Had a 16v for two years until it got nicked. The 1.8 engine really
is a bit slow unless you thrash it. The 2.0 is much better, but
still no rocket ship, but the handling is exellent and on a fast
country road the whole package, even the 1.8, feels great.
Bad bits - noisy and rough bit like a kart.
