| Hey. I'd have thought that would be the ideal anti-rust treatment
myself.
Seriously, though - are you sure there *is* such a club?

| Yep, I,ve seen the stickers! And a few years ago, I saw a display of
lovely Maxi's at a classic car show!

| The only things I remember well about Maxis (our neighbour had one
about 20 years ago) was the paint scheme, which was available in a
range of different browns, and the engine's tendency to break off the
mountings. Said engine (1750?) was quite a laugh when fitted into
a Mini, though... :)

Are you sure? There's only a couple in the country I last heard where
someone transplanted the 1750 into a mini - not an easy job, and not
altogether a fruitful exercise either (a nicely tuned 1400 doing a far
superior job).
When did you have experience of a 1750cc Mini?!
Cheers,
Dan

| May we ask why you have a fetish for Maxis of all cars ?
Why do you not think they are in the same category as Allegros or
dare I say Marinas ?
I remember TG covered the Allegro and Marina owners clubs. A sadder
bunch I have yet to see.

I haven't driven one, but my old driving instructor had, being into
motor racing of just about every type...

if he had anything to do with it, the project would have just been
for the hell of it to see if it was actually possible, rather than
gaining any sort of performance advantage! I heard some comments
about Minis with V8 Chevvy's fitted in the back... is this actually
true, or just a figment of someone's imagination?
Chris.
PS don't hassle me for ratholing, I'll move this discussion in a bit!

Oh yup. Well, not sure about actual engine type, but there are quite a
few rodder's out there with V8 powered Mini vans. Some of them are
bloomin' quick, too.
Cheers,
Dan
