it was Huw Williams).
It maybe that Leaseplan now administer the fleet.
I don't understand the connection with AXUS UK.

I think AXUS is trading name of Hertz - my Hertz leasemobile
is owned by Axus.

| I got a phone call from Leaseplan to ask why I did not choose another
Vauxhall as my recent company car.
They asked if I knew Vauxhall was the preferred vendor, and that now
Saab was as well.
Anyone else had such a call?

| As I understand it Saab has always been a 'preferred' car as it is part
of GM. However, the quotes for Saab were very expensive.
I don't understand why they should ask such a stupid question.
Presumably the reason you didn't choose a Vauxhall was that you
preferred something else !

| On the LPDIRECT system you will now also find the Saab models with
| competitive driver prices because they are now also a preferred supplier
| for Digital.
All the SAAB prices in LPDIRECT have changed in the last two
weeks. There is just one quote each for the 900 and 9000, and 7
quotes for something called the TALLA.

as one of the guys here was just telling me he had this call. He has a

| Re .9
Greg, I guess my comment was a little severe. I'm all for market
research but its like going into a sweet shop with hundreds of choccies
to choose from and the shop keeper asking why you haven't bought a mars
bar.
The 'preferred' list is not as competitive as it should be in my
opinion. Only the Vectra range offers really good deals but the list
price for these models is on par with 3 Series BMW's and thats a pretty
big tax hit.
I guess Leaseplan's problem is they hadn't bargained on us getting
so many non-GM cars as it impacts the volume order they agree with
Vauxhall to get the discounted price on individual model ranges.

I hope they ask me too. List price of a BMW (good point Royston!)
desirability and drive-ability of a shopping trolley.

Leaseplan and the car scheme, they'd also ask a few people who have
chosen to cut Leaseplan out of the loop ie opt out of the scheme.

Not really. Once it had got over its warm start stutter, it was superb
!! It was fast, with little turbo lag. It stopped well and handled
nicely, stereo was ok and ride comfort was good. The only things that
turned out to be junk were Leaseplan and Fiat ( who definately havent
got a clue !! )
Cheers

How can you praise the car and at the same time slag Fiat ? after all
they built it ! If it required things doing to it outside of the
normal servicing and the people who built it couldn't sort it out then
it's junk....

relatively speaking - it was quite a minor fault and didn't really
affect day to day driving other than on warm starts. A lot of people
lived with that quite happily on Renault 5 GT Turbo's. I personally
didn't think it was appropriate on a 22,000 car.

| The Saga ( as replacement for note .15 )
During the problems with the Fiat Coupe, it was garaged for 6 weeks
before Leaseplan agreed to reject it, it took Leaseplan a further two
weeks to do the paperwork before I could order another car. During this
8 week period I was still being charged for the Fiat Coupe, although I
had a Peugeot 406 which was 2000 a year cheaper on the scheme. When
Leaseplan agreed to reject the car ( after 6 weeks ) I informed them
that I wanted a limited edition Mazda MX5.
There where still a few of these in stock with Mazda, I asked Leaseplan
to reserve one for me, which they said they would. After the two week
period and Leaseplan finally rejected my car, I was told that Mazda had
sold out of the MX5 Dakar's so I couldn't have one !! I asked about the
one they 'reserved' for me and they said that it had been sold.
By luck, a colleague found a Dakar in a local dealership. I phoned the
dealer and purchased the car on my credit card ( brown trouser time !!)
I contacted Leaseplan and gave the dealers details and after a some
hastle they purchased the car and the dealer refunded the 18,000 on my
credit card ( thank GOD !! ) Problem was that because I thought I had
missed the MX5 Dakar I should qualify for compensation for the mental
anguish suffered as a result of thinking I would have to drive a Vectra
for three years !! ( joke !! )
