2354.0. "Drinking and driving at Christmas" by PIECES::ALCOR::RUSLING (Place holder for NOTES) Tue Dec 20 1994 14:47

Just for once, a serious note. Generally, I think that we've
all been getting much better at not drinking and driving. I
have found though, that my "absolute limit" when I'm not driving
has crept up from nothing to a pint and a half. I don't want
to sound like an awful prig, but I think that we should all bear
in mind the horrible consequences of drink-driving in this season
of all too many temptations. Remember that there's two parts to
this; not only must the driver not drink, but his/her mates
shouldn't egg him or her on in the pub. So, how about we all
vow not to drink anything when we're driving?

Merry Christmas to you all; try and spread some Christmas cheer
by being polite and patient on the road and if you see a little
	blue MG BGT, wave...

	Dave

    Get's my vote...

But I'd add that there's a thrid group besides the drivers and the
eggers on. Those are the ones who think it's a bit of a larf to add a
shot of something to an otherwise alcohol-free drink.

Wise words Dave, but I've never had a problem in not driving when I've
been drinking: I just don't do it. Simple as that. I really can't
    understand why people are tempted to. Walk/get a taxi/get a bus/sleep in
the hedge, just don't drive a car. Easy.
