Hi, does anyone out there know if the camber and castor is adjustable on an Audi 80 1.8E (1990 - previous model with the Golf 1.8 GTI Injected engine) The wheel alignment shop I go to, claims that the camber and castor is not adjustable. Though it was rather strange, especially for camber, which was adjustable for the Golf and Jetta that I had. If it is adjustable, does anyone have the specifications of the camber and castor for the 80 ? Seow-Hurn

I don't know the Audis as much as I do the VWs, but when they switched from the Mk I to the Mk II body style, the camber on the front end was no longer adjustable - however..... If you bought the proper eccentric bolt for the struts, you could make them adjustable just like the Mk I models. So, it's possible your Audi has thus setup - with the stock strut bolts it is not adjustable, but with after-market parts it is. Castor is not adjustable, unless you like banging into curbs or tree stumps...:-) Dave |
