| This may have already been mentioned in here (I find it hard to believe
that it hasn't, as it's a Digital maintained page). I found the
address in the Electronic Telegraph. It's for information and progress
reports about the attempts to break the land speed record with THRUST
II.

| re. .3
Having spent a while reading the Car in its electronic format
this morning i must say it is really well put together with
all the usual Car mag stuff including road tests and the best
recent articles taken from the magazine eg. Flat out in the Sahara
in a Ferrari and Ten Supercars that shook the world!
If you have access then definately take a look
Cheers

| In addition they 've set up 3 different "Chat Forums" with
varying topics, the input coming from readers of the pages,
but more interesting is their AUTOPILOT page which takes you
to hundreds of "web" car related sites and topics ranging from
2cv's, 4X4's, Exotic Cars, Military cars.
Cheers

2310.7 | Trafficmaster on the net (Live feed) | COMICS::FLANDERSD | Pas de deux - Father of twins ! | Wed Jan 31 1996 08:14 | 12 |
|
There's a live feed from Traffic master (moterways and some trunk roads) which
is accessible from the Vauxhall home page ( http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/ ) or
directly from http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/vectra-cgi/traffic
You get a map of the UK, and you pick the area you're interested in on that.
Then you get a blown up area with more details plus the jams etc on traffic
direction North and East with a switch to get South and West directions.
Have a look

| Malcolm,
I keep getting "Document Done" and a blank page! No matter how I chop
and change the address, and it always puts a back slash on after .uk.
Help Mr "I.S" Wallah (or do I have to log a call?)

| It only seems to work with Netscape, and then, on my B&W VXT2000, it's
all black except for two graphics I can't see properly cos they're so
crap. However, under the picture of the magazine cover, is a hyperlink
(invisible!) to [welcome] and that leads off to the main stuff. No sign
of Murrayisms yet though.
Cheers, Laurie.

| Laurie,
I am using Netscape. I just tried it again and was told "Document
contains no data". I will see if anyone has problems before I give it
another go. Or I may use a search engine!
Cheers anyway,
Stretch.

| Here is a WWW site that may interest some people.
http://www.SpecialCar.com/
All sorts of links and info. It seems to be updated monthly. I have not
looked into all the areas myself so if it is dire/boring/waste of time
etc let me know and I will delete the note.

Linked off the last notes page. Some very funny (and true) examples.
(Except what they say about Mantas, of course)
For example, here is a perennial favourite....
Volvo (any):
Indicator stalk removed from steering column to disable indicators.
Wing mirror surfaces colour coded to body so they are unusable.
All readouts to be in braille.
Cruise control set to 28mph.
Set all foglights to on and remove foglight switch.
Outside-lane following attachment for cruise control, with variable
distance (1m - 10m) settings.
Enjoy,
Stretch.
