My dad is wondering about buying a new 1.3 corolla or a new 1.3 honda
civic. Not being a car buff (I'm into jeeps myself), what would the
folks in this conference reckon is the best buy?

| 2237.1 | The new Civic Coup looks fun too | ESBS01::WATSON | Thunder rolled ... It rolled a six. | Mon Mar 14 1994 13:33 | 18 |
I have various Civic for the last 5 years or so and (touch wood) none
of them have ever broken down also they just don't depreciate. On the
-ve side insurance is high (except from HondaCare), services are costly
and *if* it goes wrong - well you better have an ample supple of arms
and legs.
The rear seat / leg room is to my mind cramped (But better that a 3
series BMW !) also the boot is small - but the rear seats do fold.
The engine is a gem - nice and docile at low revs but really wakes up
above 6000.
I would recommend a Civic to anyone.

 My current, 4 year old, Civic is worth 65% of its new value - but it is
low mileage.
